You upload your paper, choose your target journal, and an AI agent reads that journal's author instructions and your manuscript together. It flags every place they do not line up, from formatting and structure to citations, figures, tables, statistical reporting, and writing quality. Each issue appears as a tracked change you accept or dismiss one at a time, and you download a corrected file when you are done.

AI assistants like Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT struggle to hold the whole context of a manuscript that runs to thousands of words and cross-reference it against detailed, lengthy journal guidelines at the same time. A grammar checker reviews your writing in the abstract. Manuscriptly reviews it against the rules of the journal you are actually submitting to. It will not just say a sentence is wordy. It will tell you your abstract runs over your target journal's word limit, your references use the wrong style for that journal, or your figure callouts do not match its format. We read the guidelines for your specific journal and check your manuscript against them, so the things you fix are the things that journal will actually look for.

Four areas. Journal compliance covers the formatting, structure, and submission rules specific to your target journal. We also check citations and references, figures, tables and statistical reporting, and writing quality and tone. Every finding is tied to the journal's own guideline or to a clear academic writing standard, not to a vague preference.

That is what it is built for. Many manuscripts are returned before review because they do not follow the journal's formatting, reference, or submission requirements, not because of the science. Manuscriptly catches those problems while you can still fix them, so an editor sees a clean, compliant manuscript.

No. Manuscriptly does not rewrite your paper or generate text for you. It points out specific issues and proposes targeted fixes that you accept or reject one by one, the way a careful copy editor would. Your words and your argument stay yours, and nothing changes unless you approve it.

Yes. You keep ownership of your manuscript and of every edit you accept. We only use your work to provide the service to you, as set out in our terms, and we never claim rights over your research.

No. Manuscriptly gets your manuscript clean, compliant, and ready to submit. It does not judge your science, and it does not replace the journal's editors or reviewers. It is editorial assistance, within ICMJE author policies.

Your manuscript is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We never sell it, and we never use it to train AI models. It is processed only by the subprocessors needed to run the audit, which are listed in our privacy policy.

Your files stay yours, and deletion is permanent: the document, every revision, and the analysis go for good, and we keep no copies. Self-serve deletion isn't available yet, so to delete a paper or your entire account, email info@manuscriptly.net and we will take care of it promptly.

Manuscriptly runs on large language models from established providers, used under commercial terms that prohibit training on your content. The current subprocessors are listed in our privacy policy, so you always know who processes your work.

Our goal is to cover every English-language journal. If you do not see yours, request it and we will add it promptly.

DOCX (.docx) for anything written: your manuscript, cover letter, response to reviewers, and text supplements. Figures upload as image files (PNG, JPG or TIFF) and tables as Excel files (XLSX). PDFs aren't supported at launch, so if your paper lives in a PDF, export it as a .docx and upload that. You get back a corrected, submission-ready DOCX you can open and review in Word.

Yes. You can upgrade, change, or cancel your plan at any time from your account settings. One-off per-paper purchases never expire, and subscriptions are prorated.
